MY story

HELLO! I’m Courtney. Wife. Mom to 2 (wildly energetic) boys. Born and raised in the heart of Kentucky. Back when I graduated high school, I dreamed of diving headfirst into photography. But I chose to pursue pharmacy instead (talk about polar opposites). I was honestly terrified to choose a path that felt risky at the time like starting my own creative gig… what if I failed?! Pharmacy school it was.

I’ve been practicing since 2012, and while as much as I value my 9 to 5 and what it has brought me- that creative itch for photography never faded. When I became a mom (as most first time moms do) I immediately rushed out and bought my first fancy camera, convinced I was going to document every coo and crawl like a pro- only for reality to hit me smack in the face with dirty diapers and sleepless nights- all while working that 9 to 5. Fancy camera= pricey dust collector.

But in 2024- the year I turned 40- I realized life is too short and you’re never too old to chase your dreams. I finally took the leap and launched my photography business alongside my pharmacy career, and let me tell it was the best decision I think I’ve ever made. Let me introduce you to- Courtney Sheldon Photography- specializing in personality-packed portraits of kids through my pop-up and traveling studio. Home base- Bowling Green Kentucky.

From the missing tooth smiles to the uncontrollable giggles and even the tears- these moments capture who your child really is in that very moment of their life.
